Wellesley Falls To Swarthmore In Seven Sisters Semifinals
SWARTHMORE, PA - The Wellesley College basketball team dropped its semifinal game of the Seven Sisters Championship Saturday, falling to host Swarthmore, 57-53.
Wellesley (3-2) led by five at the break, 28-23, but shot just 30 percent in the second half, compared to Swarthmore's 49 percent. Swarthmore's Katie Robinson scored a game-high 29 points on 12-for-20 shooting.
Junior Kelly Grover led Wellesley with a team-high 16 points, while fellow junior Kate Lyren posted 12. Wellesley grabbed 16 offensive rebounds to Swarthmore's 11, but lost the overall board battle, 35-32. First-year Kristin Doeberl, who scored nine points, grabbed nine-rebounds, which tied Robinson for the game high.
