Wellesley Cuts Jumbos Down To Size
MEDFORD, MA - First-year Kristin Doeberl scored 19 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and passed out four assists as the Wellesley College basketball team defeated Tufts, 67-43, in a non-conference contest Thursday evening.
Wellesley led by four at the break, but took control of the ballgame in the second half, outscoring the Jumbos, 38-18, and holding them to just 23.3 percent shooting from the floor.
Junior point guard Kate Lyren scored 15 points, hitting eight of nine from the free throw line. She also passed out a game-high seven assists. Fellow junior Christine Carbonello added 12 points and six rebounds.
Wellesley (6-4 overall) hosts Trinity Saturday at 2 p.m.
