Wellesley's Varsity 8 Finishes 14th out of 59 Boats at Head of
the Charles Regatta
Boston, Mass. – Wellesley Crew's Varsity
Eight boat finished 14th out of 59 boats in the 38th Annual Head
of the Charles Regatta, Saturday in Boston. With a time of 17:56
Wellesley's 14th place finish was the best in the team's history
at the Head of the Charles.
Members of the Varsity Eight squad included Elissa Bayne at Coxswain
(St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Appollo), junior Camille Aylmer (El
Paso, Texas/Coronado) at stroke, senior co-captains Miranda Paris
(Monroe, Conn./Christian Heritage) and Anna Nousek (Boalsburg, Pa./State
College Area) at seat seven and six. Senior Rebecca Pfaff (Joyce,
Wash./Port Angeles) also competed at seat five, while juniors Lesley
Wilson and Erzi Szilagy (Kingwood, W.V./Preston) at seat four and
three, sophomore Melissa Spencer (Albuquerque, N.M./Albuquerque
Academy) at seat two and sophomore Joy Perry (Deerfield, Mass./Deerfield
Academy) at the Bow.
Wellesley Crew races again Saturday, October 26 at Bryn Mawr College
for the Seven Sisters Crew Championship.
