E-mail: ccracoli@wellesley.edu Wellesley Finishes In Top Half of National Caliber Cross-Country Invitational Williamstown, Mass. – The Wellesley College cross-country team placed sixth out of 14 teams with 186 points at the Williams College Invitational, Saturday in Williamstown, Mass. The meet featured four nationally-ranked teams including defending champion Middlebury (3rd place/67 points) and national runner-up Williams (1st place/ 41 points). Wellesley, in its second race of the year, had four runners finish in the top 50 of the 164-runner field, including three first-years. First-years Christine Grant (Mercer Island, Wash.), Tracy Bassett (Rancho Pales Verdes, Calif.) and Sarah Bard (Waterville, Maine/Waterville) finished 22nd, 28th, and 34th respectively with times of 20:07, 20:18 and 20:39.
