Skidmore Downs Wellesley 9-0 in NCAA Division III Field Hockey Second Round

Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
— Taryn Howard scored an NCAA tournament record five goals, including three in the first half to lead the Skidmore College field hockey team to a 9-0 win over Wellesley College in the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament at Skidmore Stadium.

Howard now has 30 goals for the season.

The game was delayed for two hours, while a volunteer crew of fans, Skidmore athletes, and a plow from Skidmore’s physical plant worked to clear two inches of snow and ice from the field.

Bridget Cummings scored twice and Hallory Mogren and Colleen Barber each solo goals for the Thoroughbreds. Kristine Osmond had three saves for the shutout.
