BRUNSWICK, MAINE. – Bowdoin College (1-0) used three second half goals to defeat Wellesley College (0-1) 3-0 in the season-opener for both teams, Sunday in Brunswick, Maine. Bowdoin’s Leah McClure netted two goals and passed off an assist to lead the Polar Bear’s while Kristi Gannon accounted for Bowdoin’s third score.
With both teams deadlocked at 0-0, McClure converted a penalty corner in the 32nd minute to give Bowdoin a 1-0 lead. Wellesley returns to action Thursday September 12 at 4:30 p.m in its home opener.
