WELLESLEY PLACES THIRD AT MOUNT HOLYOKE INVITATIONAL
Holyoke, Mass. – Led by medallist Susan
Choi’s (Valley Stream, N.Y.) first round score of 75, the
Wellesley College golf team placed third with a team-score of 351
in the 2003 Mount Holyoke Invitational. All teams finished
the two-day tournament with their first-round scores as the final
round was cancelled Sunday morning due to heavy rain.
At the par 72 Orchards Golf Course, Wellesley placed tied for third
with Amherst College just five strokes off of first place Fairfield
University (346). Wellesley's Choi led the pack with 75 strokes,
followed by Kelly Cramp of McDaniel and Meghan Costello of Holy
Cross, both shooting 78 for 2nd place.
Wellesley golf returns to action, October 4-5 at its own Wellesley
Golf Invitational at Nehoiden Golf Course.
