WELLESLEY PLACES EIGHTH AT NORTHEAST CHAMPIONSHIP
AMHERST, Mass. – Susan Choi
(Valley Stream, N.Y.) placed second overall at the 2004 Northeast
Championships with a two-day total of 159 to lead the Wellesley
College Golf Team to an eighth place finish. Wellesley finished
eighth out of 13 competing teams with a two-day score of 720. Harvard
took the overall team championship, besting the 13-team field with
a score of 647.
Choi was tied for first after the first round of the tournament
shooting a eight-over par 80 on the par-72 Orchards Course in South
Hadley, Mass. Choi followed her first-round performance firing a
79 on the par-72 Hickory Ridge Course in Amherst, Mass.
Wellesley’s Monica Sese (Fair Oaks, Calif.) finished scored
an 183 (86-97) for the Blue while Vicky Lyo (San Francisco,
Calif.) finished the tournament with a two-day total of 186 (94-92).
First-year Katie Moyer (New Hope, Pa.) shot a 194 (100-94) while
first-year Cecilia Yu (Vancouver, British Columbia) totaled a 202
after shooting a career-best 95 in the second round of the tournament
