WELLELSEY GOLF FINISHES NINTH AT BRYANT INVITATIONAL
Smithfield, R.I. – Led by a Wellesley
record 36-hole score of 159 by sophomore Susan Choi (Valley Stream,
N.Y.), the Wellesley College golf team placed ninth out of 13 schools
in the 2003 Bryant Invitational, Monday at Bryant. Choi shot
a career-best 80 in the first round of the Invitational and then
beat her own mark with a 79 in the second round.
Wellesley First-year Jennifer Hazelton (Solana Beach, Calif.) shot
a two-day total of 174 in her first collegiate match while sophomore
Monica Sese (Fair Oaks, Calif.) chipped in with a two-day total
of 190.
Wellesley improved its finish by two spots from a year ago at the
2002 Bryant Invitational cutting 31 strokes off of its team score.
In the 2002 Invitational, Wellesley finished 11th with a score of
756.
Wellesley returns to the links September 27-28 at the Mount Holyoke
Invitational.
