Wellesley Falls to Mount Holyoke, 13-9

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Mount Holyoke College exploded for 11 unanswered goals in the second
half to gain its first conference win of the season, 13-9. The Lyons snap their three-game slide and improve to 4-7 (1-2 NEWMAC) with the win, while Wellesley slips to 5-7 (0-2 NEWMAC).

Mount Holyoke opened the game with a goal from senior Caitlyn Taylor (Yarmouth, ME) just four minutes into the half, but Wellesley responded with five straight goals and ultimately took a 7-2 lead at the break. The Blue netted a quick goal from senior Audrey Gill (Exeter, NH) to start the second period, but the Lyons took control of the game off the next draw and rattled off 11 goals in a row. Wellesley managed to find the net with 13 seconds remaining on the clock, but it was too little too late as MHC clinched the conference victory.
