Mount Holyoke Defeats Cedar Crest, 19-8
WELLESLEY, Mass. – Mount Holyoke scored three goals in the opening three minutes of the game as they built a commanding 12-4 first-half lead to defeat Cedar Crest 19-8. Mount Holyoke advances to tomorrow's 5th-place match, facing off against Haverford at 9:00 a.m. at Wellesley College. Cedar Crest moves to the 7th-place game against Bryn Mawr at 9:00 a.m. at MacDowell Field at Babson College (directions).
Megan Wefald (Granger, Ind.) led Mount Holyoke once again, tallying seven goals in the victory. Danielle Babcock (Lexington, Mass.) added four goals and two assists, while goalkeeper Lisa Roberts (Yarmouth, Maine) tallied 21 saves in the win. Kirsten Gustafson (Winstead, Conn.) led Cedar Crest with five goals. Goalie Devin Ursini (Downington, Pa.) had 10 saves.
