Vassar Downs Swarthmore, 13-6
WELLESLEY, Mass. – Vassar College used a four-point run in the final minutes of the first half to break away from a solid Swarthmore squad, coasting to a 13-6 victory. Vassar will face Wellesley in the championship tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. at Wellesley College. Swarthmore will play Smith in tomorrow's 3rd-place game, to be held at 11:00 a.m. at MacDowell Field at Babson (directions).
Vassar was led by Ali Fantl (West Hartford, Conn.) and Christine Castellan (Media, Pa.), with five goals each. Liz Pacheco (Dresher, Pa), Jessica Albert (West Hartford, Conn.), and Katama Martellucci (Montclare, Pa.) added on goal a piece. Anna de Regt (Redmond, Wash.) led Swarthmore with two goals. Lindsay Roth (Severna Park, Md.), Athena Samaras (Annapolis, Md.), Catherine Crawford (Mahopac, N.Y.) chipped in one goal each.
