In good weather, golf classes meet at the Golf House on the 6th hole of the Nehoiden (Wellesley College) Golf Course. (Cross Washington Street at the traffic light by the College Club, go into the parking lot and walk up the hill from the parking lot to the small building at the top of the hill). If it is bad weather, classes meet at the far end of the Field House in the Sports Center. Faculty may notify students by e-mail where classes are meeting, but if the weather is questionable faculty will ALWAYS notify the front desk at the Sports Center where classes will be held. Students should call X2019 after 8:30 AM for morning classes and after 12:15 PM for afternoon classes to determine where the class is meeting. It is the STUDENT'S responsibility to check her e-mail or to call X2019 to find out where class is meeting. Students will be provided with clubs, balls and other necessary equipment for classes. They should wear comfortable clothing and golf shoes or sneakers. Long skirts and sandals are not appropriate. If students want to borrow clubs to play outside of class, equipment is available at the front desk of the Sports Center. A deposit check will be returned to the student when the equipment is returned. Students may play on the course outside of class by showing their student ids to the groundskeepers on the course. If a student is a beginner, she should check with her instructor about etiquette and speed of play before going on the course to play. There is an annual student-staff scramble scheduled for a Friday afternoon in late October each year to coincide with Parent's Weekend. Please check with your instructor if you want to take part in this recreational golfing outing. It is designed to let inexperienced golfers play the entire course without pressure. |
