Bonnie Dix, entering her 21st season as the
Head Swimming and Diving Coach at Wellesley College, has
compiled a career record of 125-31 in dual meet competition.
In her 2005-2006 Season, Dix helped the team to a ninth
straight Seven Sisters title and a third place finish at
the NEWMAC championships.
During her tenure, she has tutored 19 NCAA Qualifiers,
10 All-Americans and two New England Champions. In addition,
Dix has led Wellesley to three undefeated campaigns: 1993-94,
1999-00 and 2000-01.
Since the inception of the NEWMAC during
the 1998-99 academic year, Wellesley has won two of the
six swimming & diving
championships sponsored by the league. Prior to the NEWMAC,
Wellesley captured the only swimming & diving championship
ever sponsored by the New England Women's 8 (NEW 8) in
1997-98. For her efforts, Dix has been honored by her coaching
peers as the NEW 8 Coach-of-the-Year in 1997-98 and NEWMAC
Coach-of-the-Year in 1998-99 and 2004. Under Dix's guidance, Wellesley has taken the last nine
and 14 of the last 15 Seven Sisters Championships.
Dix is a member of the American Swim Coaches Association,
Level IV, the College Swim Coaches Association and the
New England College Swimming Coaches Association.
She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont,
where she was a Division I swimmer. In addition, she holds
a master's degree from the University of Tennessee, where
she served as assistant coach and interim head coach. During
her tenure with the Volunteers, Dix coached Tennessee's
first Southeastern Conference Champion.
During the summer, Dix serves as a guest
speaker at various camps and clinics around the nation
and most recently Australia.
