Erica Shaya

Erica Shaya joined the Wellesley College Sports Medicine Staff in 2004 as its assistant athletic trainer. Erica is certified as an athletic trainer by the National Athletic Training Association Board of Certification. Erica holds a bachelor’s of science degree in athletic training from the University of Delaware in 2002 and a master’s of science degree in kinesiology with a concentration in athletic administration from James Madison University in 2004.
At Delaware, Erica worked with many of the varsity teams. She was the recipient of the Julie Moyer Knowles Outstanding Student Athletic Training Award in 2000 and the Dr. C. Roy Rylander Athletic Training Award in 2002. Erica also served for two years as the athletic training student representative for the College of Health and Nursing Sciences studies committee in 2000-2002.
At JMU, Erica was a graduate assistant athletic trainer working with women’s lacrosse, football, and men and women’s track/cross country. She taught an introduction to athletic training class laboratory and also received the Sports Medicine Recognition Award for the Dedication/Commitment to Student-Athletes and Athletic Training Students in 2003-2004.
At Wellesley, Erica helps to provide athletic training services to all varsity student-athletes for the college’s 12 intercollegiate athletic teams. The Cherry Hill, N.J. native also serves on the college’s AIDS Awareness Committee and is an active member of several groups within the athletic department.
