ADAMCIK LEADS CLARK PAST WELLESLEY 1-0
WELLESLEY, MASS.– Liz Adamcik (Florence,
Mass.) slotted in the game-winning goal in the 24th minute to lead
Clark past
Wellesley 1-0 in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic
Conference soccer game, Tuesday at Clark. With the win Clark improves
to 8-6 overall and 4-3 in the NEWMAC while Wellesley slips to 6-9
overall and 2-5 in the conference.
Adamcik corralled a misplayed ball deep in Wellesley’s defensive
third and beat Wellesley keeper Kristin Doeberl (West Redding,
Mass.) one-on-one to the left side of the net for the 1-0 lead
which would hold through the half.
Wellesley out-shot Clark 14-10 but managed to put just five of
those shots on goal in the loss. Clark’s Rebecca Dezan (Kendall
Park, N.J.) made five saves to earn the shut out win, while Wellesley’s
Doeberl turned back two shots.
