UMASS-DARTMOUTH BLANKS WELLESLEY 1-0

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MASS.– Andrea Mota (Somerset, Mass.) tallied an unassisted goal in the 41st minute to lift the U.Mass-Dartmouth Corsairs past Wellesley 1-0 in a non-conference soccer game, Tuesday in North Dartmouth. The loss is the fifth straight for Wellesley now 4-5 overall. With the win U.Mass-Dartmouth improves to 5-2.

Mota’s game-winning goal came from a shot at the top of the box that deflected off of Wellesley keeper Kristin Doeberl’s (West Redding, Conn.) hand to find the back of the net for the win.

Wellesley out-shot the Corsairs 13-4, but U.Mass-Dartmouth keeper Amanda Tavares (Dartmouth, Mass.) made 10 saves to earn the shutout.
