Wellesley Cruises Past Mount Holyoke, 6-0

WELLESLEY, MA - First-year Satya Twena scored a pair of goals as the Wellesley College soccer team defeated Mount Holyoke, 6-0, Saturday afternoon in a NEWMAC contest.

First-year Connie Spearnak opened the scoring for Wellesley just 25 seconds into the game off an assist from junior Shannon Mulaire. Twena would then score her first goal with 38:39 remaining in the first half off an assist from senior Kristin Van Fleet. Mulaire capped the first-half scoring with 19:02 left off an assist from first-year Sara Daniels.

Junior Lani Lee scored unassisted less then two minutes into the second half before fellow junior Lisa Andruszkiewicz added another off an assist from Daniels. Twena closed the scoring unassisted with 19:40 remaining.

Sophomore goalkeeper Elizabeth Senecal made four saves in the shutout.

Wellesley (4-2 overall, 1-1 NEWMAC) hosts Clark Tuesday at 2 p.m.
