Wellesley Drops Coast Guard, 3-0

WELLESLEY, MA - Junior Lisa Andruszkiewicz had a goal and an assist as the Wellesley College soccer team defeated Coast Guard, 3-0, in a NEWMAC game Thursday afternoon.

The win moves Wellesley (7-4-1 overall) back above the .500 mark in the NEWMAC at 4-3-1. Coast Guard falls to 6-8 overall and 3-5 in NEWMAC play.

Wellesley opened the scoring when Andruszkiewicz assisted first-year Satya Twena with 31:23 remaining in the first half. Andruszkiewicz then found the goal off an assist from senior Nellwyn Hagan just 2:03 later. Junior Bridget Jones closed the scoring in the second half when she tallied an unassisted goal with 10:49 remaining.

Wellesley sophomore Elizabeth Senecal made four saves in the win. Coast Guard goalkeeper Joan Pavlish recorded eight stops.

Wellesley hosts MIT Saturday at 1 p.m.
