TURNER FALLS IN ROUND OF EIGHT AS WELLESLEY EXITS NEWITT
Amherst, Mass. – Kelly Turner (Worcester,
Mass.) dropped a hard-fought 6-2, 6-1 match to fourth-seeded Barclay
Gang of Tufts University in the Round of Eight at the 2003 NEWITT
Championship, Saturday at Amherst.
Turner advanced to the Round of Eight with two victories in the
first day of the tournament defeating Colby-Sawyers Jen Wood 6-0,
6-1 and then downing Allison Noyes of Mount Holyoke 6-2, 6-4. Turner
advanced the furthest of all Wellesley players competing in the
NEWITT tournament.
