Drops First Match of Season with 7-2 Loss to Williams
WELLESLEY,
Mass. -- The Wellesley College women’s tennis team lost
their first match of the season with a 7-2 non-conference defeat
by visiting Williams College on Monday afternoon. With the loss,
the Blue stand at 7-1 on the season (6-0 in the NEWMAC), while
Williams improves to 2-1.
The
doubles pair of Jen Schwarzkopf (Hinsdale, Ill.) and Meghan Stubblebine
(Bridgeville, Pa.) picked up a win for Wellesley as the duo topped
Allie Rottkamp (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.) and Grace Baljon (Ponte
Vedra Beach, Fla.) 8-6. Stubblebine also turned in the top singles
performance for the Blue with a 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 three-set battle
over Rottkamp.
