Head Coach: Dorothy Webb
E-Mail: Coach Webb

B.A., University of the Pacific
M.A., Brown University
16th year of coaching at Wellesley

Dorothy Webb enters her 16th season as Head Volleyball Coach at Wellesley College with a career record of 347-122 (.740), ranking her among the top ten active Division III head coaches in winning percentage.

During her tenure, Wellesley volleyball has exploded onto the national stage, playing in five NCAA National Quarterfinals and making two Final Four appearances.  Under her guidance, the Blue have won 20 games or more in 10 of the past 12 years and have topped the 30-win plateau four times, including the magical 1998 season when Wellesley went 37-1 and reached its first Final Four.

Webb has won the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Coach of the Year award four times in the brief nine-year history of the league. Prior to the formation of the NEWMAC, Webb was named New England Women’s 8 (NEW 8) Coach of the Year three times. Webb is also a five-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) New England Region Coach of the Year.

Prior to coming to Wellesley, Webb served as head coach for one year at Brown University after being an assistant the previous two years. In addition, she spent a year as an assistant coach at Gonzaga University in Washington.

As a player at the University of the Pacific, Webb was a four-year starter, a two-time All-American, and a member of two Division I National Championship teams, and currently holds the NCAA record for most digs in a tournament (95).  Following her collegiate playing career, Webb played professionally for a year with the Portland Spikers in Oregon. In 1994, she was named a first-team All-American at the USVBA Open Nationals. She also played for Team Nike in the Bud Light four-woman pro beach league in 1995.
