Welcome Wellesley Squash Alums to the 2009/10 squash season.

This season the squash team has started rebuilding the ranks with a good number of 1st years who have played other sports and have recently started playing the game.

After only one week of practice they were thrown into their first match during Alumnae Homecoming weekend and had a lot of fun.   We were very pleased to have two Alums and assorted guests who came back and tested their well honed skills against our young enthusiasts.

As we travel between the squash courts at Keohane sports centre and Dana Hall school for practices, most of our time is being spent on developing the fundamentals in preparation for our first match against our old rival, Smith, on Saturday November 7th at Dana Hall, to which we welcome support from all of our local Alums.

I am pleased to announce that Tony Mohammed, the Wellesley Soccer coach, will be returning to assist the squash team in November after his season has finished, while Susan Greene, an ‘A’ grade player, has offered us her help as a volunteer coach, as well.

The squash team would also like to thank the members of FOWCA for giving the program a squash  ball machine which will undoubtedly help all members of the team improve their skills at a much more rapid rate!

I look forward to meeting up with you all at our opening match on Saturday November 7th at 4.00 p.m. at Dana Hall.
