Happy New Year from Wellesley Tennis!  And, thanks for checking in at the new Coach’s Corner.  I look forward to the opportunity for Wellesley’s tennis program to stay connected in this way.

The team is excited about the approach of our spring season!  We will kick off the players’ return to campus with a celebration of our 4th consecutive NEWMAC Championship, another automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, and a number of personal successes within Wellesley’s Tennis program.  We are also eager to welcome back three of our players after their fall study-abroad experiences.

Our first weeks of practice will lead up to great season-opening matches on our Spring Break Training Trip to Virginia.  On March 26th, we will face the defending national champions, Washington and Lee, followed by a match up with #11 ranked Gustavus Adolphus on the 26th.  That should be great preparation for our home opening event:  Seven Sisters on the 29th and 30th of March.

Then, it will be marching forward toward May, trying to work our way up the national ranks from our current #16 standing and staying focused on our goal of making a surprising splash at the National Championship!

I have a hunch that this could be one of our most exciting seasons to date, so please stay tuned!  Thanks for your past, present, and hopefully future support of this tennis program that is swelling with BLUE PRIDE!
