Duff Named NEWMAC Basketball Player of the Week
BABSON PARK, Mass. – Wellesley College senior Jessica Duff (Milton, Abingdon, UK) was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending
December 7, 2008.
Duff spearheaded a 2-0 week for Wellesley averaging 23.5 points and 16.5 rebounds. In a 72-57 win over Wentworth, the senior netted 21 points, 10 of which came from the charity stripe. She also recorded a game-high 18 rebounds. Against Albertus Magnus, Duff scored 26 points and added 15 boards in a 65-59 come-from-behind win for the Blue.
On the season, Duff is averaging 19.8 points per game while pulling down an average of 13.2 rebounds. To date, she has scored 846 career points and added 559 career rebounds.
The Blue currently sport a 4-2 mark on the season and will play their final game of 2008 on Tuesday. Wellesley hosts Rhode Island College in a 7:00pm clash at Keohane Sports Center.
