Wellesley Athletes Compete at DIII New Englands

NEW LONDON, Conn. - Several Wellesley College athletes competed this weekend at the New England Division III Track & Field Championships, hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.  Four Wellesley runners posted personal best times to lead Wellesley at the event.

Clare Egan ran a 4:40.52 in the 1500-meter event, the second-fastest Wellesley performance all-time.  For her efforts, she was named to the DIII All-New England Team. 

Katie Gosling
(10,000 meters), Amy Damon (3000-meter steeplechase), and Ashley Muller (400 meters) recorded personal-best times in their events, with Muller setting a new Wellesley record. 

Madeline Harms
competed in the 5,000-meters, placing 10th overall with her best time since 2005.

The Blue also placed ninth overall in the 4x800m relay, with a foursome of Muller, Jessica Weng, Katie Watson and Egan.  Weng ran her first sub 2:24 as she passed five teams.
