Jessica Pfeifer Named Assistant Soccer Coach

WELLESLEY, Mass. - Wellesley College head soccer coach Tony Mohammed is pleased to annouce the hiring of Jessica Pfeifer as assistant soccer coach. A 2005 graduate of Northeastern University, Pfeifer holds a Master's of Education in counseling and sport psychology.

Pfeifer comes to Wellesley from the head coaching position at the New England Eagles U11/U12 Girls' team, where she has coached since last year.  She is also the current assistant coach of the Greater Boston Bolts U16 girls' team

She played her college soccer at Northeastern University, where she was a four-year starter and team captain.  During her collegiate career she was named to the America East All-Conference Team and All-New England Second Team (2004), and ranks third all-time at Northeastern in career points.  She also played for the Greater Boston Bolts from 1993-2001, winning six state championships, and was a six-year member and team captain of the Olympic Development Program.

Pfeifer also brings sport psychology experience to the position as a current sport psychology consultant at Northeastern, where she works with teams and individual athletes to improve their performance through sport psychology education.  She also has prior experience as the facilitator of a mentoring program for middle- and elementary-school girls in Brookline, and as an intervention counselor in San Diego working with students to develop leadership skills.
