Wellesley Squash Downs Boston College at MHC/Smith Invitational
NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- The Wellesley College squash team went 1-2 at the Mount Holyoke/Smith Invitational on Saturday. The Blue fell to William Smith and Amherst 9-0, but rebounded for a 5-2 victory over Boston College.
Against BC,
Wellesley's Andrea Mui (Hong Kong, China) was a 9-1, 9-7, 9-0 winner at number one. At two, Ashley Stevens (East Harwich, MA) won her second game 9-3 but fell in four. In the third spot, Cabelle Ahn (Richmond, BC) won her first and third games 9-1 but fell in a tough five-game match.
Wellesley won both the fourth and fifth flights, with Dora Hui (Boston, MA) recording a come-from-behind victory after starting the match 0-2. At five, Faith Kim (La Jolla, CA) won in straight games, 9-3, 9-1, 9-0. At six and seven, Ally Ewing (Philadelphia, PA) and Carrie Ng (Springfield, MA) were both winners by forfeit.
The Blue will return to Northampton next weekend as Mount Holyoke hosts the Seven Sisters Squash Championships.
