Wellesley's Kate Sorenson Named NEWMAC Diver of the Week
BABSON PARK, Mass. – Wellesley College senior diver
Kate Sorensen (Bolton, MA) was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Diver of the Week for the period ending November 9, 2008.
Sorenson won both the 1-meter and the 3-meter diving events as Wellesley took first place at the 2008 Betty Spears Relays. The senior bested 10 other competitors on the 1-meter board to take first place with 251.10 points. In the 3-meter event, she took first place with 268.65 points, ahead of five other divers. Both of Sorenson's scores exceeded NCAA the NCAA qualifying standard.
Wellesley Swimming & Diving is back in action on Saturday, November 15th with a 1:00pm dual meet against Plymouth State.
