Wellesley's Kate Sorenson Named NEWMAC Diver of the Week


SproutWELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College senior diver Kate Sorensen (Bolton, MA) was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Diver of the Week for the period ending February 1st.  This is the fourth weekly honor for Sorenson this season and the second in a row.

Sorenson put together an amazing effort in both of the diving events in a win over Mount Holyoke.  The senior scored a 294.76 on the 1-meter board and then scored a 300.00 on the 3-meter board. Both scores were lifetime personal bests, Wellesley school records and also hit NCAA qualifying marks.

Wellesley Swimming & Diving is back in action on Saturday, traveling to Bates College to face Bates and Conn. at 1:00pm.
