Mezin, Walther Named ITA All-Americans
SKILLMAN, N.J. - Wellesley College Tennis seniors Jenna Mezin (Haiku, Hawaii) and Hali Walther (Navarre, Fla.) were recently named to the 2008 ITA Division III Women's All-American Team. Each received honors in doubles, and Mezin was recognized for her singles play as well. This is the fourth All-American selection for both.

The pair posted a doubles record of 10-5 this season, including an appearance in the Round of 16 in the NCAA tournament, and finish their Wellesley careers with a 62-25 record together. Mezin, who reached the Round of 16 in singles play at the national tournament, holds a 63-26 career record in singles; Walther finishes at 60-15.
The Wellesley Tennis class of 2008 completed a four-year sweep of both the NEWMAC and Seven Sisters championship titles, won the NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award in both years since its inception, and qualified with the team for four straight NCAA tournaments. Mezin and Walther were also four-year individual NCAA qualifiers.
Criteria for ITA All-American honors is as follows:
SINGLES: 1.) Top 8 seed in NCAA singles tournament; or; 2.) Win one round at NCAA singles tournament; or; 3.) Finish in the Top 20 in the final ITA Rankings or; 4.) Win ITA Fall Regional Tournament or; 5.) Wins a round/match at the ITA National Small College Championships (including players who receive at-large invitations to the tournament).
DOUBLES: 1.) Top 4 seed in NCAA doubles tournament; or; 2.) Win one round at NCAA doubles tournament; or; 3.) Finish in the Top 10 in the final ITA Rankings or; 4.) Win ITA Fall Regional Tournament. or; 5.) Wins a round/match at the ITA National Small College Championships (including teams who receive at-large invitations to the tournament).
