Devine Named NEWMAC Singles Player of the Week
WELLESLEY, MA – Wellesley College senior tennis player Trish Devine (Westport, MA) was named the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tennis Player of the Week for the period ending September 30, 2007.
In Wellesley’s 2-0 week, Devine led the Blue with two singles wins. Against Bowdoin, she defeated Brett Davis 6-2, 6-4 en route to an 8-1 win for Wellesley. In a 9-0 sweep of Smith on Saturday, Devine handed Diana Fiumefreddo a 6-2, 6-1 loss.
This season, Devine has compiled a record of 5-1 in singles and 7-1 in doubles.
Wellesley tennis is back in action at home today at 4:00 pm against cross-town rival Babson College.
