Wellesley Tennis Ranked 8th Nationally

WELLESLEY, MA – The Wellesley College tennis team secured a top-10 ranking in the latest ITA Collegiate Rankings released on April 15th.

Wellesley is ranked eighth in the country in Division III and third in the region. The ranking is the lowest for a Wellesley team since the 1991 Blue held the seventh spot.

Wellesley tennis is currently 18-3 on the season, under head coach Christine Franek.  The team won the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship this season as well as the 2008 Seven Sisters Tournament Title, completing four-year sweeps of both honors.  Their NEWMAC title also qualifies the team for a spot in the upcoming NCAA Championships.

Wellesley returns to action at home on Friday, April 18 with a 2:30pm match against #13 Tufts University.
