Log in Banner and enter job submission form, GJAPCTL

1. PROCESS

• enter the name of the Banner process that you want to run in the process field
• or access the query search option by clicking on the magnifying glass icon to the right of the process description field

1. PRINTER

• enter a valid printer name in lowercase
• or enter ‘DATABASE’ to save results to be accessed later with form GJIREVO
• or enter ‘NOPRINT’ to save results in your unix jobsub directory to be printed later
• see appendix a for a list of valid printers

1. SPECIAL PRINT

• leave this box blank if you do not wish to use special print instructions
• enter the unix command string for the form type that you wish to use
• command string should be in lowercase and enclosed in double quotes:
• example: "-o landscape –o c"
• see appendix b for a list of special print instructions

1. PARAMETERS

• vary according to the process you selected in step one
• see Banner process documentation if you need help with filling in the parameters for a specific process
• **note: you can save your responses to the parameters for use in a future run: check the save parameters checkbox at the bottom of the screen. Then give the parameters a short name, and a description. You can resuse them by entering the name that you save in this step in the Parameter Set field in the top of the screen the next time that you are going to run this report.

1. select the radio button next to SUBMIT and click the SAVE icon at the top of the screen

• make a note of the log and lis file names that will appear in the lower left hand corner of the screen
• examples:
• gjrrpts_1818123.log holds processing information about your job
• gjrrpts_1818123.log holds the actual results of the process, including any formatted output
