Tucker Crum is a Laboratory Instructor of Biological Sciences at Wellesley College. I joined the Wellesley faculty in August 2001. I teach the lab component of molecular genetics (BISC 219), organismal biology (BISC 111), and cell biology (BISC110 & 220).

I received a B.S. degree in medical technology from Mary Washington College and medical technologist, MT (ASCP) certification at University of Virginia Hospital.   I worked as chief technologist and lab manager of a clinical immunology lab and taught immunohematology at the School of Medical Technology, University of Virginia. In 1982, I received a M.S. in biology with a concentration in medical microbiology from Long Island University. I have been an instructor at women's colleges, including Barnard, Emmanuel, Simmons, and Wellesley for 2 decades.

I particularly enjoy melding science with art. I am a museum teacher at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston where I lead public programs. Using knowledge of the Gardner's and the Museum of Fine Arts' collections, I have designed museum activities for biology students, such as "Art for the Anatomist", Art for the Physiologist", and co-authored a paper entitled "Exploring Anatomy through Art".   I teach a Wintersession course at Wellesley called "Exploring the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum".
