Characteristics:
* Shrub arching, with canes which do not root at the tips.
* Leaves compound or feather-compound, with 3-7 leaflets, 3-10".
* Leaflets elliptical, toothed, whitened beneath.
* Fruits red, soft, not shiny, compound, with a hollow center.
* Height: To 6'.

Natural History:
* Flowers May - July.
* Fruits June - October.
* Habitat: Thickets, meadow and wood edges, areas that have been disturbed by fire or logging.
* Range: Southern Canada and northern United States.
* Native.
