We encourage all members of the community--faculty, student
organizations, administrative and union staff—to apply for funds to support
lectures and events that they believe will contribute to the intellectual and
cultural life of our community.
Normally applications come from organizations (such as student groups or
academic departments) but individuals are also welcome to apply, so long as they find sponsors and
co-sponsors for their proposed events. Funding is limited, and we cannot
sponsor all events, nor sponsor every event fully. We also invite comments from
all segments of the community on issues relating to event funding and policy.

Each academic department and/or
interdepartmental program is entitled to $1,500
per year to support their internal cultural events and lecture programs.
All requests must be approved in writing by the chair of the department before
submission to CLCE.
Please address any questions to Katherine Rooks (x-2200, krooks),
Administrative Director of the Committee.
