100 Word Summary:Bill Atkinson is best known as the author/creator of MacPaint and HyperCard, software that revolutionized computer use. He joined Apple in 1978 as Empoyee 51. There he helped create Apple compters. He was made an Apple Fellow in 1983. In 1987, HyperCard was bundled with every Apple computer sold, making Atkinson famous. He is one of three founders of General Magic, which produces software for digital communications. He is now at General Magic as chief scientist.
