About CWS




A resource for various on-campus and off-campus programs as well as job and internships listings and, on campus recruiting information. Accessible only through First Class, the Wellesley College e-mail system. Our conferences are under Ctr. for Work & Service. The conference name is listed first below, followed by a description:

Informational Conferences:

  • cws-announcements: A general purpose conference used to publicize CWS workshops, panels, information meetings, and more.
  • cws-passwords: Contains passwords to access CareerSearch, monsterTRAK, Vault, Spotlight On Careers and many subscription job databases. This conference will soon be replaced by the new online access to these passwords and databases: CLOE (Career and Life Online Exploration) resources at http://www.wellesley.edu/cws/cloe.html. You may also call the CWS at 781-283-2352 for passwords.
  • cws-shadow-program: The Shadow Conference is used to post information for Wellesley students about the Shadow Program.
  • cws-offcampus-offerings: Lists and describes career- or education- related events sponsored by organizations other than the College.
  • cws-minority-news: This conference has been moved to the W Network discussion groups and renamed Diversity Career News. The Center for Work and Service will post diversity related career information including career fairs, internships, scholarships and fellowships targeted toward under-represented groups.
  • Online Periodicals: Online versions of periodicals and subscription job and internship services.

Undergraduate/Graduate/Professional School

  • cws-financial-aid-info: Lists and describes scholarships, fellowships, grants and awards for which Wellesley students might be eligible.

Recruiting/Jobs/Internships/Not-for-Profit and Public Service Conferences

  • NFP/PS: The CWS Not-For-Profit/Public Service conference is a place to ask questions about careers/jobs/internships in not-for-profit and public service fields. There are folders for NFP/PS newsletters for seniors and underclasswomen from the current and previous years.
  • cws-recruiting-tips: This conference has been created to assist you with your recruiting needs. The Recruiting Office at the Center for Work and Service will post notices and information pertaining to the on-campus recruiting efforts. If you have any questions concerning the information posted here, e-mail CWS Hire. Please feel free to post questions relating to any messages posted onto the conference.
  • CWS Internship Program: Lists both paid and unpaid internships in a variety of fields. Also includes on-campus internship information programs and internship recruiting programs. Be sure to access MonsterTRAK and Liberal Arts Career NetWORK (LACN) for comprehensive internship databases.
  • cws-science-fair: The CWS holds an annual Wellesley Women in Science Fair for science jobs and internships in February. Questions regarding the fair may be posted to this conference. The CWS Science Newsletter will be archived in this conference.
  • cws-apartment-finder: This conference has been moved to the W Network discussion groups. The Center for Work and Service will post materials received regarding housing from alums, universities and real estate agents.
  • cws-job-fairs: This conference has been moved to the W Network discussion groups. Access the network to see postings of job fairs throughout the nation and occasionally throughout the world.
  • cws-shortterm-employment: Lists and describes non-permanent employment opportunities for graduating seniors or graduates.
  • Tanner Connection: This conference is for students to post questions regarding the Tanner application process and presenting at the Tanner Conference.

Community Service Conferences

  • cws-community-service: Used to post information on community service programs and projects.

  • cws-blood-drive-appointments: This conference is used to post information and requests for appointments for the blood drive at Wellesley College.
  • WWOW: The Wellesley Words on Wheels volunteer program.

Other CWS Programs

  • ManagementBasics: Management Basics is a program run every other year during Wintersession. This conference is for questions and information regarding the program.
  • Tsunami Relief Group: This conference is for communication among the members of the Tsunami Relief Group.
