Best 106 Internships. Mark Oldman and Samer Hamadeh. The Princeton Review, 1999. Profiled internships were selected by the authors using a specific set of criteria: substantive work, enthusiastic mentoring, comfortable work environment, special extras (gym, social events, etc.), organization prestige, and stipend or salary related to comparable organizations. Entries describe the organization and internship, discuss application and selection procedures, and what benefits an intern might expect.

The Big Green Internship Book: Internships and Summer Jobs for the Environment. Career Education Institute, 2002. Directory describes internships at various organizations involved with environmental concerns. Entries include stipend(s), application instructions and deadline(s).

The Congressional Internship Book 2003-2005. Career Education Institutes, 2003. Directory lists internships offered by members of the 105th Congress. Entries include D.C. address and phone number, Congressperson's district, committee assignments and party affiliation. Internship descriptions list types of students (undergraduate, graduate, law, etc.), majors preferred, terms available, stipend information, application procedures, and deadline.

Gardner's Guide to Internships in New Media. Garth Gardner, Ph.D. Garth Gardner Co., 2002. The author presents suggestions on obtaining an internship in the media industry (broadcasting, computer graphics, animation, multimedia) including application procedures, information for foreign nationals, resume and cover letter construction, and the interviewing process. Directory section lists individual internships offered by broadcasting organizations and stations.

The History Internship Book. Career Education Institute, 2002. Directory lists national parks and monuments, historical commissions, preservation organizations, libraries and archives that offer internships. Entries include contact person, address, phone number, Web site, description of the internship(s), requirements, application instructions, and deadlines.

The Human Rights Internship Book. Career Education Institutes, 2002. Directory describes internships available with organizations involved in human rights issues. Entries include address and Web address, phone and fax numbers, contact person, organization description, internship description, a list of preferred majors, stipend information, application procedures, and deadline(s).

International Internships. Publisher of International Employment Weekly, 2003. Directory describes over 500 internships and volunteer opportunities abroad. Entries include description, contact and application information and Web site.

The Internship Bible. Princeton Review, 2002. The editors have assembled a list and descriptions of rewarding internships which missed being a “top 100.” Individual internships offerings are ranked by percentage of those selected from an applicant pool and compensation offered. Entries include information on location(s), field(s), duration, deadline(s), description of the work entailed, perks, and the application process. Appendices list internships by compensation, selectivity, deadlines, academic level, citizenship requirements, minority offerings, geographic location, and fields of interest.

Internships in International Affairs. Career Education Institutes, 2001. The directory lists internships offering experience in the international arena, both abroad and in the U.S. Included are government agencies, non-government organizations (ngos), trade groups, human rights organizations and development agencies. Entries for each include an internship contact person, address, phone and fax numbers, Web site, organization description, internship description, types of experience, deadlines, stipend and required application materials.

Internships with America's Advertising Agencies. Career Education Institutes, 2002. Directory contains information on internships offered at U.S. advertising agencies, by state. Entries include contact person, address, phone, Web address, brief description of the agency, internship description(s), preferred majors, stipend(s), deadlines, and a list of application materials required.

Internships with America's Top Companies. Career Education Institutes, 2003. Directory lists and describes business internships with U.S. companies. Entries for each include contact information, company and internship descriptions, number of internships offered, preferred majors, times available, stipend information, and application requirements.

Music & Entertainment Industry Internship Guide. Entertainment Media Consultants, 2002. Directory lists internships offered in the performing arts, broadcast media, literary arts, and other arts- and entertainment-related organizations. Entries include address, phone and fax numbers, and requirements.

National Directory of Arts Internships. National Network for Artist Placement, 2003. Lists agencies offering internships in various arts categories. Entries include intern's duties, requirements, application procedures, and a contact name.(NX230 .N3)

National Internship Guide. National Internships, 2002. This binder contains a series of booklets on internships in various geographic locations, and a few career fields: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Florida, New Jersey, New York City, Northern and Southern California, North Carolina, Ohio, Philadelphia, Seattle, Texas, Washington D.C., Environmental Internships, International Internships, and Internships in Information Technology.

Peterson's Internships 2005. Peterson's Guides, 2002. Lists organizations offering internships, describes the opportunities, and suggests methods of selection and how to apply.(L901 .I66)

Directory describes internships available with professional sports teams (majors and minors), leagues and associations, higher education athletic programs, and sporting events and tournaments. Washington DC Internships in Law and Policy. Career Education Institutes, 2002. Lists and describes over 150 D.C.-based organizations involved in influencing government policy decisions.
