Looking
for an available location for an event
The
Campus Calendar allows on-campus event planners to view individual
locations and events reserved in them. Please
note that a
location that appears to be available at a certain time may not
be available; buildings and services have policies concerning
when events can be scheduled, and there may be previous
requests
for that location that have not yet been
processed. However, using the Campus Calendar
is a good first step in planning an event
and determining your location preferences. In addition to helping
you narrow down available locations, you can see what other events
will be taking place at the same
time and in nearby locations, helping avoid audience, sound,
and parking conflicts.
Some
events require a setup and takedown time. This
additional time is not reflected in most views of the calendar, however
if you choose a Location by Date category and view by list, the list
will include setup and takedown times. To see only the time of the
event itself, click the event name to view its detail.
To
search by location:
- Click Locations on
the Campus Calendar header and wait for the page to update.
- Choose
a location by one of the following methods to see a weekly schedule
for that location:
-
If you want to check the availability of a particular location, click By
Name.
-
If you want to search for locations in a category or building before
checking a particular location, click By
Date, wait for the page to update then locate
the category names on the blue bar on the right and click the
category of room you need. Wait for the page to update and
choose a location from the table by clicking the
small calendar
icon to the right of its name .
- Choose a week from the calendar on the blue bar on
the right.
- If you would like to compare availability of this location for several
successive weeks, click the button for the number of weeks on the blue
bar on the right.
