There is a chem227 class folder under Chemistry on the Alice server.
MACS: Under the apple menu select Chooser, Click on AppleShare in the upper left box, Select Science Center in the AppleTalk Zones box (lower left), Select Alice as a file server (right box) then click OK. Sign on as a Guest then click OK select Chemistry then click OK. You can close Chooser. There should be an icon for Chemistry on your desktop. Open this and then select and open the chem227 folder and you're there.
PCs: Open Network Neighborhood, then open Alice, open Chemistry and then Chem 227.
BOTH: While you can work directly out of the folders on the server it is recommended and faster to drag a copy of what you want onto your desktop which will give you your own personal copy; when you're done you can put the Chemistry icon or folder into the Trash which will sever your conection to the server.
CHIME: You will need to install a CHIME plug-in for your
Netscape Browser in order to see all the molecular visualizations for
class. CHIME 1.0 for MACS CHIME 2.0 for a PC. The PC's in rooms 230
and 215 already have CHIME installed. There are installers on ALICE
or you can get it off the
web:

Flick has written a
nice
tutorial for using CHIME
RASMOL: You can down load RASMOL from its homepage or you can get it off of ALICE.
