Goals of our Cyanobacteria Projects
  • Isolate pure phycocyanobilin to examine
    N incorporation into proteins at different time points following N starvation

  • Complete the 1H NMR characterization of phycocyanobilin containing 14N or 15N

  • Using 1H NMR spectra of cyanophycin,
    compare the rates of incorporation of exogenous N into cells grown under a variety of conditions: same or different N source; starved or not; CM or not
