Applications
• MRI most commonly used to produce highly resolved static images of interior regions of the body
• MRI can also be used "dynamically," to study the functioning of regions of the body, such as the brain (fMRI) or blood vessels (MR angiography)
• Some MRI studies use contrast agents to alter the behavior of water protons
