Susan Kerr

Sue Kerr came to this position with over 17 years of teaching preschool children. Sue received a B.A. in English at Colby College and did graduate work in Early Childhood Education at Wheelock College. She lived in Edinburgh, Scotland for five years, and while there worked in a Social Work Department nursery. Upon returning to the U.S., Sue worked as an Assistant Teacher/Intern in the Youngest Group at the Child Study Center, was Lead Teacher in the Middle Group for two years, and was Lead Teacher in the Oldest Group for 14 years. Sue has two boys of her own. She enjoys reading and spending time outdoors. Sue has been playing tennis and squash all her life and is the coach of the Sharon High School Girls Tennis Team.

 


Annie Cohen

Assistant to the Director

Annie Cohen first visited the Child Study Center in 1981 when she attended Boston College and was a nanny to two children who attended the Child Study Center. Since that first visit so long ago, Annie has worked in retail management, owned her own business, and volunteered for many local non-profit organizations. Annie’s own children attended the Child Study Center from 1998-2007. During this time, she was a member of the CSC Parent Committee, the CSCResearch Review Committee, and a volunteer in the Child Study Center’s library. She began working at the Child Study Center in February of 2008. She is married and has two boys and two girls. Annie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, bike riding, and baking

 


Susan Ferguson

Lead Teacher, Youngest Group

Susan Ferguson has been working with young children for a period of twenty years. She graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Development from the University of Vermont in 1988. She has worked with children in a variety of settings including childcare, early intervention, and research at Wellesley Center for Research on Women. Susan joined the Wellesley Child Study center in 2006 as an Assistant Teacher/ Intern in the youngest group. She is married and has two boys. Susan enjoys spending time with her family, taking walks in nature and reading.


Becky Geer-Linnell

Lead Teacher, Middle Group

Becky Geer-Linnell has been teaching young children for over 10 years. She began her teaching career in 1997, teaching a diverse group of preschoolers in a Head Start Program. Later, she served as a Preschool Special Educator and Case Manager in Barrington, New Hampshire. Becky currently serves as Adjunct Faculty at Great Bay Community College, teaching for the Early Childhood Education and Teacher Preparation departments. Becky completed her undergraduate degree at Granite State College and earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Lesley University in 2004. In her free time, Becky enjoys running, bookbinding, and yoga.


Marianna Sweeney

Lead Teacher, Oldest Group

Marianna Sweeney has 5 years of experience at the Child Study Center. She has taught in all three classrooms and has been in the Oldest Group for the last 3 years as the Assistant Teacher/Intern. Marianna holds an Associates in Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Mass Bay Community College and is currently taking courses towards completion of a bachelor’s degree.  She is a recent newlywed, marrying Robert Sweeney in August of 2009. Marianna’s interests include heated yoga, cooking, and spending time with her extended family.
