Campus Calendar (R25 WebViewer)
| How do I get my event on the calendar? |
Any event that has been scheduled by one of the main scheduling offices (Registrar, Special Events, Student Life) has met the event registration criteria. To read the criteria and fill out an event request form, click Requests on the banner of the Campus Calendar or go to this page: http://www.wellesley.edu/Calendar/requests.html . The event request form allows you to enter a description of the event which will appear on the calendar. Some other departments enter their own events: Conferences and Summer programs, Davis Museum, Food Service and PERA. |
| Who can see the campus calendar? |
There are two views of the calendar, for those connecting from on-campus and those connecting from off-campus (public calendar). The off-campus view is more limited; information about locations is not included and some events have been marked not to display on the public calendar. The two versions have been made as similar as possible so that students, faculty and other employees can see what's happening from their off-campus computers. |
| Why does the page say "there are no events?" |
| Every event appears in one of the event categories that can be selected on the right. If the selected category has no events for the specified day, then the "There are no events" notice will appear. |
| When I quick search for my event it can't find it? |
| The Event Quick Search is case sensitive. First try initial caps. If you don't find it try all upper case. If you know approximately when the event is set to occur you can look at a month or week view in the correct category to look for the event. |
Appearance issues:
|
| You are probably not using a compatible browser. For Windows computers use Internet Explorer 6 or Netscape 7.02. For Macintosh use Netscape 7.02. |
| Why does the calendar always open up to a past date? |
| When you link to the Campus Calendar the parameters for the particular page (date, category etc.) are appended to the URL. If you bookmark the page these parameters are part of the saved URL. You will need to edit the bookmark or favorite in order to open it to the default each time. Instructions for doing this are in the help files - instructions for using the calendar from either on-campus or off-campus. |
| Why can't I see all of today's events at the same time? |
There is no option to view all events because we do not want the calendar slowed down by extensive searches. If there were an "all events" option and several people were to choose all events for a month view it would slow down both the calendar and the scheduling software (R25). |
| Where do I find my classes on the calendar? |
| There is no filter for academic classes. We recommend that people go to the Registrar's page for this purpose. Academic classes are in the database and you can see them if you look at Locations. If you look at the events in a location you will see academic classes there. |
Where do people ask questions about the calendar? |
| The footer in the white area has general information including Wellesley's address, compatible browsers and then a link to Key Contacts. The Key Contacts link explains how to ask questions about events. |
