What to Expect
- The following are examples of calls
you may receive:
- Information about campus events, such as Commencement,
Reunion, concerts, etc.
- Callers who say a name in the wrong order (i.e. last
name first), try to spell the name, or who try to enter
an extension instead of saying the name
- Callers who want a certain department, such as Admissions
- Callers who didn’t get the correct number due to
background noise, accent, or mispronunciation
- Telemarketers (cold calls)
- Callers who had 3 unsuccessful attempts at voice recognition
Special Recordings
Transfer the caller to the corresponding
extension to hear a recording:
| What is the mailing address of the College? |
x3848 |
| What are the directions to the College? |
x2736 |
What are the library hours?
(The user can select which library during the recording.)
|
x2110 |
| When is the bus running? |
x2318 |
5000 Extensions
If a caller knows the
extension they wish to reach, they should be able to dial it themselves.
The exception is custodial closets
in the x5000s, which cannot be dialed. If you receive a request to be transferred
to such an extension, transfer the call to x2760.
