Episode Video Compression Version 5 Mac OS |
Episode is video compression software for Macs, used by the Knapp Instructional Internship.
Episode Notes
1. Episode is installed on the Mac in PR 113. You may have to look for it in the Applications folder.
2. The compression setting we're most likely to use has a new name: H264_480x360, but please check with staff member before compressing.
3. If you are only able to compress 20 second clips, it's because you need to enter a license number from a staff member.
To Export from iMovie
1. In iMovie, select File > Export.
2. A window will open. Make sure you are in Quicktime. Next to Compress movie for, select Full Quality. Click Share.
3. Name your file and click Save. Your movie will be saved on the Desktop with a .dv extension.
To Compress Movie in Episode
1. Open Episode. Drag your .dv movie from the Desktop into the area marked "Drag Source Files Here" in the right panel.
2. Click on the Compression Settings to expand the tree. Then click on Templates > By format > QuickTime (mov) >H264_480x360.
3. Select h264_Large (ask Knapp staff member which setting works best for your project) in the left panel and drag it to "Drag Compression Settings Here" under Status on the right panel.
4. To start encoding, select the movie and click on the play button near the bottom.
