To associate Apple's QuickTime player 6 with .mp3 files in Netscape or IE (on a PC):

  1. Close all Netscape or IE windows.
  2. Launch QuickTime Player.
  3. If a window appears asking you to associate QuickTime with all available media types, say YES!
  4. Quit out of QuickTime Player.
  5. Mp3 files should now play within the browser window using QuickTime.
