Purchasing a Computer

The Apple Store for Education facilitates product sales to eligible purchasers who call via a toll-free number: 1-800-780-5009. Apple can verify your purchasing eligibility and quote any discounted prices over the phone.

Apple also has an online computer store in which faculty, staff and students can order online and customize their own purchases. You can go directly to the Apple Store for Education. Once there, enter Wellesley's zip code (02481) and click Find.

There you will also be able to find current Apple special offers for Education.

Computers ordered from Apple will be delivered directly to your home, office or to the College post office.

Wellesley College faculty, staff and students may order from one of our Lenovo order sites.

Please note that our standard on campus is Windows XP Professional for ThinkPads and ThinkCenters; if you wish to order a system similar to what Wellesley gives to its faculty and staff, please select that as the operating system for the computer you purchase.

Microsoft and Adobe Products for Wellesley College Students, Faculty and Staff

Microsoft and Adobe products are available to Wellesley students, faculty and staff through an educational agreement negotiated by one of our consortiums.

Note that you will need to register using your Wellesley College e-mail address in order to qualify for the educational pricing available at this online store.

Software purchased through this agreement may be kept indefinitely, even after leaving Wellesley College, and can be installed up to two (2) times on a single computer.

Please keep in mind that shipping is only allowed to addresses in the United States, so incoming students living outside the U.S. may want to order in August and have it shipped to their Wellesley College address.

Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware Utilities

Wellesley College provides free of charge Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware software to all faculty, students, and staff. Incoming students will receive this software during orientation.
